We’re proud to announce that our recent website project with Limited Run Games was featured in an Inverse article spotlighting one of the strangest cult classics in video game history: Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties.
Yes, that game.
A Cult Classic, Reimagined
Originally released in 1994 on the 3DO console, Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties is infamous for its strange storytelling, slideshow-style graphics, and over-the-top voice acting. It’s been called everything from “so bad it’s good” to the “Plan 9 From Outer Space” of video games.
And now, in 2025, it’s back—with a full remaster called Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties: Definitive Edition.
Our Role: Building the Website
Bytes worked with Limited Run Games to create the official website experience for the re-release. We handled everything from design and layout to optimization and responsive performance—making sure the digital storefront captured the same eccentric charm as the game itself.

Featured in Inverse
Our work was recently mentioned in a full-length article by Inverse titled “Inside the ‘Ed Wood’ World of ‘90s Video Game Acting”. The feature dives into the cultural legacy of Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties, including commentary from actress Jeanne Basone (Jane), as well as a spotlight on the game’s revival and the team behind it—including us.
“It was goofy, awkward, and ridiculous—but that’s what made it fun.” – Jeanne Basone via Inverse
